I am so happy to have been the Principal at Homestead Elementary School for the last 5 years. This is my 21st  year in Community Unit School District 308. Before becoming the Principal at Homestead I served as the Assistant Principal for Churchill Elementary School. Prior to becoming a Mustang, I was a teacher at Homestead for eight years and Bednarcik for one. I taught fifth grade for seven years, third grade for one year, and a multi-age (fourth and fifth grade) classroom for one year. I also coached volleyball at Bednarcik Junior High and Oswego East High School. I attended the University of Iowa, in Iowa City, and graduated in 2001 with a degree in elementary education. I also attended Concordia University, Chicago, and received my master’s degree in May of 2009 in educational leadership. I am glad that I am in District 308 because the students are outstanding, the faculty and staff are great to work with, and the community is very supportive.

It is an honor to be a part of the Homestead Elementary community. This is my fifth year as an Assistant Principal and I am thrilled to be in the Oswego School District. My career began in Naperville School District 203 teaching second grade for five years. For the past eight years I have taught fifth grade in the Batavia and St. Charles area. While teaching fifth grade, I also served as the Director of Learning Resources.

 

My desire to be an educator began at Benedictine University in Lisle, Illinois. I then received my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction from National Louis University and later, my Administrative degree from Aurora University. Making a positive difference in education and in the lives of every child I meet, is very important to me.

Hello Homestead Families! I am excited to be a part of the Homestead team this year. Prior to coming to Oswego I worked in Cicero & Plainfield School District. During my time there, I worked as a special education teacher in our behavioral support program and had the opportunity to serve in elementary, middle, and high school settings. I joined Oswego School District as a special education teacher in the STARS program at Wolf's Crossing before going to Old Post as a 5th grade general education teacher, where I have been passionate about student inclusion and strategies for success.
