Welcome to Homestead Elementary School!

At Homestead, we believe in creating an environment where everyone feels valued and inspired to be their best. It is truly a special school because of the incredible staff, students, and parents who make up our community. It’s a place where we work together, support one another, and strive every day to help each other grow. 

I am excited to be in my third school year as principal of Homestead. In this time, I have witnessed students take risks and grow. Being part of this community is inspiring!

Before joining the Husky family in 2023, I was an administrator in Homer Community Consolidated School District 33C. I began my career in education as a first and second grade teacher in Indian Prairie School District 204.

The Homestead staff is student-centered and always works to best meet student needs. They put students first; this is apparent when I walk the hallways or spend time in the classrooms each day. Our staff members take the time to listen to students and respond to their social, emotional, and academic needs.

 

My favorite part of serving as principal here is getting to see students and staff working together to learn and grow. At the end of the day, my hope is that each student continues to get better every day. I know that when they leave Homestead, they will have made fond memories to last a lifetime.
